New York's attorney general has launched an investigation into a charity run by US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The office says the inquiry into the Donald J. Trump Foundation is to ensure the Republican's charity is complying with state laws governing nonprofit's.
The attorney general – who is a known supporter of Hillary Clinton – has previously sued the real estate mogul and his now defunct Trump University for fraud.
It comes as a British man who allegedly tried to grab a policeman's gun at a Trump rally has pleaded guilty to some of the allegations against him – to try to get a reduced sentence.
