An investigation’s underway after an arson attack at an East Clare garda station.
A garda’s private car was set alight while several windows of Scarriff Garda Station were also broken during the incident overnight
The officer’s vehicle – which was his own private car -was parked at the back of Scariff Garda Station, while he was out on patrol in a squad car last night.
Upon returning to the station at around 12.30 he noticed the vehicle alight – and raised the alarm- He subsequently discovered two windows in the garda station had also been broken.
The scene has been preserved for a technical examination today and Gardaí in Killaloe are appealing for anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact them.
