Traffic congestion at peak times in Ennis is set to be eased considerably with the opening of the new 2.5 million euro Inner Relief Road.
The 180 metre single carriageway which links Station Road with the Clare Road is expected to cater for around four and a half thousand vehicles every day as well as providing easier access to the town centre for both motorists and visitors alike.
A new Coach Park located at The Friar’s Walk which features 14 spaces and on site facilities just 100m from the town centre has also been unveiled.
Ennis Town manager Ger Dollard said he’s confident the new road will get traffic flowing in the town.
The Ennis business community have welcomed the opening of the new link road and coach park amid hopes it will attract more visors into Clare’s County town and boost trade locally.
