INMO says plans to deal with overcrowding won’t help Midwest

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says a new plan to deal with overcrowding will do little to alleviate the issue in the Midwest. 

University Hospital Limerick has seen continued high numbers waiting for beds on trolleys in recent months – at one point last month there were 54 people on trolleys at the facility.

The Department of Health's new 74 million euro  package will see additional places created on the fair deal scheme in the homes that some older hospital patients will be able to move to nursing homes. 

However INMO Industrial relations officer Mary Fogarty says she's concerned it won't help here
