A representative for nurses in the region insists a new government plan to reduce waiting lists will only work if there are resources to back it.
Health Minister Simon Harris has announced a five point plan to tackle hospital waiting lists, which he hopes will lead to a 50 per cent reduction in the number of patients waiting more than 18 months.
It comes as new figures show a 31% increase in trolley numbers at University Hospital Limerick in July, compared to the same month last year.
The Dooradoyle facility is by far the most overcrowded in the country again today, with 38 people on trolleys and the INMO's Midwest Representative, Mary Fogarty claims the main problem is a lack of beds.
