Inis Cealtra Visitor Centre Set To Boost East Clare Tourism In 2025

Tourist footfall is expected to receive a boost in East Clare next year with the arrival of a long-awaited new attraction.

The Old Rectory building overlooking Mountshannon Harbour and Lough Derg is currently the subject of a overhaul worth €300,000 which will see it turned into a visitor and interpretative centre.

It’s part of the €4 million Inis Cealtra Visitor Experience project which has been dubbed the “most significant tourism project ever to be undertaken in East Clare”.

The attraction is due to open in March of 2025 and General Manager of Clare Tourism East Stephen Hanley says strong numbers are expected.
