Sod Turning On ‘Historic’ Killaloe Bypass Works Taking Place Today

The sod-turning of the Killaloe bypass works will take place this afternoon in what’s being labelled a ‘historic’ day for East Clare.

Transport Minister Eamon Ryan is partaking in the official opening of the 60 million euro project this afternoon, with the works estimated to take around three years to complete.

Shovels entered the ground back in August, with the project seeing a new bridge joining Killaloe to Ballina, as well as an upgrading of the R494 to Birdhill.
