A “Do Not Drink” notice on the county’s largest group water scheme has been lifted, bringing an end to a seven week outage.

The issue arose on the Kilmaley Inagh Group Water Scheme in mid-February, when raised levels of aluminium and turbidity, which is the cloudiness in water, were detected.

Tests carried out over the last ten days have come back clear, meaning the notice has finally been lifted meaning 2,000 households now have drinkable water again.
