Concerns That Broadband Plan Cost And Timeline Could Still Rise

More details are expected to be released today about senior government officials’ concerns over the National Broadband Plan.

The publication of the documents will follow the cabinet’s decision yesterday to approve the roll-out at a cost of 3 billion euro.

It will be awarded to the consortium led by Granahan McCourt – who will begin work later this year.

However, some homes and businesses in rural areas won’t be connected until 2026.
