Clare TD Calls For ‘High-Scale Green Energy Projects’ For Moneypoint

A Clare Government TD is making fresh calls for Moneypoint to be earmarked for the development of ‘high-scale green energy projects’ by 2030.

It comes ahead of a visit from Environment Minister Eamon Ryan to the West Clare plant later this week.

It’s envisaged a project producing offshore wind turbines at Moneypoint will begin supplying energy by 2028, three years after the scheduled ceasing of coal burning at the facility.
