Calls For Footpath In Meelick For Social Inclusion Of Knockalisheen Residents

Calls are being made for a footpath to be installed to link a direct provision centre in South East Clare with the village of Meelick.

The Mayor of Clare, Councillor Cathal Crowe, is calling for the infrastructure to be considered for the social inclusion of the asylum seekers living in Knockalisheen.

He wants to see funding drawn down from the Departments of Justice and Defence, to allow Clare County Council carry out the works.

Meelick Fianna Fáil Councillor Crowe says now that the Department of Justice has begun investing in infrastructure at other centres, Knockalisheen must also come on their radar.
