Cabinet Minister Says UL Re-Examining Proposals To Expand Further Into County Clare

The Minister For Higher Education says the University of Limerick is in the ‘early stage’ of re-examining proposals to extend further into county Clare.

Proposals to create a new ‘university town’ in the South East of the county were mooted a number of years ago, though this was said at the time to be dependent on the progress of the Northern Distributor Road project.

Those works were not included in the recently published National Development Plan, with new UL President Professor Kerstin Mey publicly expressing her disappointment.
