An information evening is being held in North Clare tonight for rural householders concerned about the potential costs of failing the upcoming septic tank inspections.

The EPA is developing a national inspection plan to be implemented by the local authorities and the Environment Minister hopes to have a household registration system in place by April- with a five euro fee for those who register early.
Inspections aren’t likely to start until next year and while there will be no upfront fee for them, many householders fear they will be left with hefty bills afterwards.
