A Clare General election candidate says he's committed to making the county a hub of economic activity.

Andre Sibo Hakizimana, an economic policy consultant, confirmed his intention to run last Thursday, on the final day of nominations.
Mr. Hakizimana, originally from Rwanda, but now living on the Gort Road in Ennis, says Ireland is far too reliant on the US and British economies.
He says this leaves us vulnerable to a global downturn.
