Increasing Visitor Numbers At Clare’s Heritage Sites Won’t Be Easy Task For Council

A Local Fianna Fáil representative doesn’t believe increasing visitor numbers at Clare’s heritage sites will be an easy task.

Councillor Alan O’Callaghan, who originally proposed that Clare County Council consider taking over the Shannon Heritage sites back in 2020, is welcoming their decision to press ahead with the arrangement.

The Sixmilebridge native believes correctly marketing the heritage sites of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Knappogue Castle and Craggaunowen as a package of attractions is vital.

Councillor O’Callaghan says the council need to utilise the knowledge of the staff and the take advantage of the accessibility of the sites when promoting the attractions to tourists.
