A cross-departmental initiative has already begun – this will form the basis for an inquiry into the discovery and the Dáil has been promised an update before it's summer recess.
Meanwhile, Independent Wicklow TD Catherine Murphy has called for the mass grave to be declared a crime scene, and for a full inquiry.
Brendan Howlin has also promised comprehensive action will follow, and has ruled nothing out.
