Increase In Sheriff Use To Collect Unpaid Clare Taxes

There was a sharp increase last year in the amount of times that Revenue used Sheriffs to collect unpaid taxes in Clare.

The Finance Minister has told the Dáil that nearly 1,000 Sheriff Warrants were issued here last year, up from 713 the year before.

However, the number last year was lower than in each year from 2012 to 2014, and over 5,000 such warrants have been issued since then.
