Rail campaigners say an increase in the number of people using the Western Rail Corridor show it has been a success.

There were 50,000 journeys on the Ennis-Athenry line last year, an annual increase of over 70 per cent, and this despite the extensive flooding at Ballycar which disrupted services for over three months.
Iarnrod Eireann said the increases followed the introduction of online booking and promotional fares, while Colman O'Raghallaigh of West on Track has told Clare FM that he feels it's a sign of good things to come.
