Increase In IDA Sponsored Visits To Clare

The Jobs Minister has revealed that the IDA sponsored 18 site visits to Clare last year by companies who were looking to invest here.

The figure is the highest on record, and will raise hopes of a major jobs boost for the county.

Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor has told the Dáil that the IDA sponsored 18 potential investors to visit Clare last year.

These site visits are seen as a key step in encouraging a company to do business in Ireland.

The 18 visits ranks Clare in eighth place of all counties – Westmeath, Sligo and Louth are among those ahead of the Banner County.

However, it is also an increase from 12 in 2015 and higher than any other year dating back to 2013, the first year for which such records are available.
