Incident Room Set Up At Ennis Garda Station Following Discovery Of Bodies At Kilnaboy Home

An incident room has been set up at Ennis Garda Station following the discovery of two bodies at a house in North Clare.

Gardaí were dispatched to a domestic residence in Kilnaboy shortly after 2:30pm yesterday afternoon, when the body of a man was discovered outside the property, while the body of a woman discovered inside the home.

Post mortem examinations are due to be carried out later today.

The scene, where the bodies of a man and woman, both aged in their 50s and who are known to each other, remained saled off overnight.

The site is currently being preserved for units of the Garda National Technical Bureau, for experts in the fields of fingerprints, ballistics analysis, photography and mapping to carry out an examination.

Its understood that this, and the results of a toxicology report and post-mortem examination to be carried out later today, will determine the route of the investigation.

The local coroner has been notified of the incident, while the services of the office of the State Pathologist has also been requested.

A Family Liason Officer, meanwhile, has been appointed to support the family of the deceased at this time.

An incident room has since been established at Ennis Garda Station, where a Senior Investigating Officer has been appointed to lead the case.
