Incidences Of Cancer Due To Double By 2040

Irish people are being urged to examine their lifestyles in a bid to slow the increase in cancer rates.

Figures from the National Cancer Registry show that incidences of the disease are due to double by 2040 – due to an increase in obesity, alcohol intake and smoking.

Lung cancer is expected to rise by 136 per cent in women and 52 per cent in men while skin cancers are expected to see the largest increase across both sexes.
