Incidence rates of COVID-19 have continued to increase in four out of Clare’s five electoral areas this week.
The only region to see a drop has been Shannon, which had seen the highest number of infections in this county seven days ago.
COVID-19 is now most prevalent in the Killaloe electoral area in this county.
79 cases were diagnosed there in the past two weeks according to Health Protection Surveillance Centre data.
Its incidence rate stands at 392.9 per 100,000 people.
119 new cases in the Ennis region see its rate only slightly behind at 385, while 63 cases in the Ennistymon area see its prevalence of the disease almost identical at 384.
Shannon’s the only area to have seen a reduction on last week’s number – more than 10 percent in total – though 89 cases were diagnosed there in the two weeks up to this Monday.
Shannon’s rate of the virus is now at 292.8.
The Kilrush electoral area, as it has been for a long number of weeks, has the lowest incidence rate in this county, though it is still rising.
50 new cases were confirmed in West Clare in the past fortnight, and its figure sits at 238.2 per 100,000 people.
