Improvement In Rectifying Local Authority Housing Issues Welcomed

The head of Clare County Council's Housing Committee has welcomed what he feels is an improvement in rectifying issues in local authority housing.

Councillor Gerry Flynn says residents in some publicly-owned homes are reporting a pick-up in how their problems are addressed, after the issue was highlighted in recent weeks.

A number of long-term residents said they were waiting a long time for problems in their homes to be rectified, while issues in other houses were being fixed when people were moving into them.

A motion calling for a review of Council policy in this area is now expected to be carried out, and the Shannon Councillor thinks this is welcome.
