Clare’s Senator believes there will be a significant improvement in Garda presence and results in the near future.
It follows the publication of two Policing Authority reports on the performance of An Garda Síochána in 2018, as well as progress made in implementing the recommendations of the Garda Inspectorate report.
Both documents acknowledge considerable activity in policing and modernising the force, but state that targets are being missed in a number of areas including deployment and training, diversion and inclusion.
