The trade union IMPACT says its outrageous that childcare workers were not consulted on the Government's new scheme for pre-schoolers.

They are holding a special meeting in Dublin today, to brief staff on plans to significantly increase the scope of the free childcare and education programme.
From this coming September – an additional 60-thousand children will be accommodated in a second free pre-school year – in line with plans from the Department of Children and Youth affairs.
