The Irish Farmers Association says it’s disappointed with a lack of government support in it’s efforts to end attacks by dogs on animals across Clare.
The IFA has set up a phoneline to catalogue such attacks in order to demonstrate that it is a serious problem which is worrying farmers here and across the country.
The potential dangers associated with dogs have been highlighted in recent days after the Clare dog warden Frankie Coote was called to remove an animal which had attacked a young boy in Limerick – the toddler is continuing to recover in hospital in Cork.
