ICSA Secretary Says Insurance Hikes Discourage Reporting Crime

The Cratloe-based General Secretary of the ICSA says increased insurance premiums are discouraging farmers from reporting crime.

The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association has just published the second part of its rural crime survey, which has found that in many cases, farmers are willing to take a financial hit, rather than report a crime.

The organisation has calculated that this has resulted in a cost of €4,300 euro for victims of crime.
