The Irish Blood Transfusion Service has issued a pre-amber alert ahead of an urgent Blood Donation Clinic in Clare this afternoon.
The alert means hospitals are being encouraged to conserve blood supplies amidst an immediate national shortage.
A clinic will be held at Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis from 4:50 this evening until 8:10 tonight.
