IBTS Encourage Donors To Attend Ennis Clinics As Blood Supplies Under Pressure Following Surge In Demand From Hospitals

The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (IBTS) is hoping over 250 donors will attend clinics in Ennis over the next two days to maintain supplies.

Blood levels came under pressure in the run up to Christmas due to a surge in demand from hospitals, with the IBTS unable to build up a sufficient store.

Those who wish to donate can attend CBS Primary School in Ennis this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon between 1.45pm and 5pm.

National Donor Services Manager with the IBTS, Stephen Cousins, says good attendance at each clinic is vital.
