The Irish Aviation Authority says Shannon Airport will record "impressive" growth of around 20% in the number of flights there this year.
The Authority's forecast comes as the Airport itself reports continued growth in passenger numbers last month.
Shannon Airport says over 97,000 people passed through its doors last month, up from 77,000 in November of last year.
The biggest increases have come in European traffic, up over 200%, while the number of transatlantic passenger numbers was up by 15%.
Shannon CEO Neil Pakey says the Airport is on track to record double-digit percentage growth over the figures for last year, a claim that has been backed up by the Irish Aviation Authority.
It measures the number of flights, rather than the number of passengers, and recorded an average of 45 flights a day last month, up 7.5%.
The Authority predicts growth of about 20% at Shannon this year, a figure it calls impressive, while Chief Executive Eoin Brennan says he is particularly pleased.
