At least one person’s been killed after Hurricane Irene hit the east coast of America.

It made landfall in North Carolina where 200-thousand homes are without power.
It’s understood the man was killed – when he was struck by a falling tree.
Irene’s now headed north – and is expected to reach New York tomorrow where people living in low lying areas have been told to leave their homes.
