Clare County Council has confirmed that 1646 people have been added to the supplementary register here ahead of the deadline on May 5th.

Figures compiled by the National Youth Council show this is higher than the likes of Donegal, Kerry and Kilkenny, and only just less than in Galway and Limerick.

People who have been added to the lists, as well as those already registered, will be eligible to have their say in the same sex and Presidential age referendums next week.
