At least 600 people are thought to have died – and thousands more are missing after flash floods and landslides in Northern India.

The floods were triggered by monsoon rains in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand (pron: Oo-tarrik-and).
As many as fifty-thousand people are thought to be stranded in remote areas.
