It’s claimed crowds on the streets of Ennis for this summer’s Fleadh na Mumhan will rival those seen during the all-Ireland final over the past two years.

The Munster fleadh is biggest of the provincial fleadheanna, and is set to attact up to 4,000 competitors and in excess of 50,000 visitors to the county town between the 15th and 23rd of July, though organisers say that’s a conservative figure.

The event will see a gig rig in the town centre, music competitions, a lively trad scene on the streets and a series of concerts.

It’s expected to cost in the region of 130,000 euro to stage the event and preparations are well underway, with a number of fundraising efforts underway – One of the organisers Joe Arkins is confident that it will be successful.
