An American manufacturing giant is opening a new sales office in Shannon.
Hubbell Global Operations Ltd is set to deliver a jobs boost to the county by opening up at the Westpark Business campus.
Hubbell is headquartered in the US state of Connecticut, and manufactures electrical and electronic products for both homes and business.
The company had revenues of 3.4 billion dollars last year, and operates manufacturing facilities throughout the world including Canada, Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, the UK and Australia.
The company has now confirmed to Clare FM that has opened a Sales & Marketing office at Westpark in Shannon – the firm's first office of its kind in Europe.
Hubbell has told Clare FM that the centre of excellence will allow it to capitalize on the global economy and their international supply chain.
The firm also says local team members will offer focused expertise in finance and human resources, and that this will help the firm expand globally.
An announcement on the number of jobs that are to be created is expected in the near future, but has not been confirmed at this time.
Westpark says its strategic location in terms of access to European and world markets was one of the factors which helped secure Hubbell for Shannon.
