Health officials in the Mid West are urging people across Clare to keep an eye out for their elderly and vulnerable neighbours during the cold snap.

HSE area manager Brendan Gloster says the key essentials to look out for are adequate heat, shelter, food, warm drinks, prescribed medicines, falls and loneliness.
He added that while many people require assistance and care throughout the year, harsh weather, even for a short spell, can make their circumstances more difficult.
