HSE Seeks To Secure More Rural GPs

The HSE's taking steps to try and secure a GP for one West Clare village, as part of a national initiative.

It's reported officials are to offer more doctors a 'rural practice allowance' of around €8,000.

Around 19 areas of the country don't have a doctor in full-time general practice, including Kildysart.

Last year, three separate efforts to secure a GP for the East Clare village of Feakle failed to attract interest from doctors.
