The Director of Public Health MidWest says there are positive signs the spread of the Omicron BA.2 variant is slowing in this county.
90 PCR confirmed cases were recorded in Clare on Wednesday, compared to 329 cases on the same day two weeks prior – a drop of 114%.

However, Dr. Mai Mannix is encouraging those who are eligible to avail of a second Covid-19 booster vaccine to do so, despite a drop in cases numbers locally.
Despite hopes that Clare may be past the peak of this latest wave, Dr. Mannix says the future of the virus is still uncertain.
