Disruptions to scheduled care, cancellations and staffing deficits are expected throughout this week for both community and outpatient services.
University Hospital Limerick is continuing to deal with high levels of presentations due to a surge in flu cases, with the INMO recording 122 patients on trolleys during this morning’s rounds alone.
HSE Midwest Regional Clinical Director Catherine Peters is also imploring people to observe caution amid the treacherous conditions, as large numbers are presenting with trauma injuries from slips, trips and falls.
