HSE Midwest Advising People To Be Aware Of Tobacco And Alcohol Intake For World Cancer Day

HSE Midwest is advising people to be aware of their tobacco and alcohol intake on World Cancer Day.

To mark the day, HSE’s National Cancer Control Programme is offering advice on the 12 ways to reduce the probability of a cancer diagnosis.

Four out of every ten cancers are preventable , with tobacco and alcohol the biggest causes of preventable cancers in Ireland and can increase the risk of at least seven types of cancer.

HSE MidWest’s Senior Health Promotion and Improvement Officer, Bernadette Mullins, says a wide range of free supports are available for people looking to reduce their intake.
