HSE interview for new Dooradoyle nursing staff

 

The HSE says its stepping up efforts to ease the chronic overcrowding at Dooradoyle in recent weeks.

Figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were over 35 people stuck on trolleys and chairs in the A& department at Limerick Regional Hospital.

In a statement the HSE said that it was conducting interviews to recruit new nursing staff and added that all  possible measures have been put in place to alleviate the situation including a reduction in the number of elective surgeries and the carrying out of extra ward rounds to free up beds.
