The HSE insists that a review of Shannondoc in West Clare won't see the out-of-hours GP service close in Kilrush or Ennistymon.

That's despite a shortage of doctors in the area, which is one of the factors being considered in a review of the service across the MidWest, including the centres in West Clare.
A HSE source has stressed that this review is in its early stages, and insists no final decision has been made, but the review has led to concerns about what the impact could be on the public.
