HSE Head Steps Down

The Chief Executive of the HSE, Cathal Magee, is reported to have stepped down from his post.

The Government’s today expected to confirm the move, which comes amid a raft of changes to the structure of the organisation.

The Troika has said spending in the area of health must be reigned in as part of the bailout package – it’s already running at a budget deficit of 280 million euro.
