An investigation’s underway after a 15 year old died following an accident at his family’s farm near Skibbereen in West Cork.

The teenager was fatally injured when he was trapped between an excavating machine and another piece of plant equipment at around 6.30pm.
He was rushed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
The Health and Safety Authority have begun an investigation into the fatality while Gardaí have also begun an inquiry with a view to preparing a file for the coroner’s court.
