The Public Expenditure Minister says the coalition had to consider other things than just the deficit in framing last month's budget.

It follows criticism from the Fiscal Advisory Council that not going ahead with one last austerity budget will leave the national debt €10 billion higher in 2018.
The Council also criticised the coalition for not outlining a medium term economic plan with the budget but Minister Howlin says some of the Council’s advice is “impossible” to follow.
