Sinn Féin Calls For Immediate Nationwide Rent Freeze

Sinn Féin is calling on the government to roll out an immediate nationwide three-year rent freeze, to help struggling homeowners stay in their homes.

It comes as the party’s Housing Spokesperson has addressed a meeting on the housing crisis in Ennis, as homeless figures continue to cause concern.

There are now 68 adults without a home in Clare, down five from the July figure, though it’s still a 325% increase on the 16 that were in that position just three years ago.

In addition, there are currently 141 homeless children across the Midwest region.
