Two separate applications for planning permission have been lodged with Clare County Council looking to develop large housing estates in the county.

The first submission of note was initially sent to the local authority last June to develop a housing estate in Ballymaley.

Eko Integrated Services Ltd will build 24 four-bedroom detached houses in the area – 19 of which will be two storey homes with dormer windows.

The gross ground floor of the proposed development will span 4,432 metres squared, with individual houses either 188 or 172 metres squared.

The planning permission for this has been granted but is subject to 28 conditions.

Meanwhile, planning permission is being sought for the development of 60 houses in South East Clare.

Ahaclare Development Ltd have submitted an application to build 14 detached and 46 semi-detached homes in Sixmilebridge.

The proposed development will see 53 three-bedroom properties and 7 four-bedroom houses with a floor space of 8,560 metres squared.

A decision is due on this application on July 17th.
