Pandemic Prompts Significant Rise In Clare House Prices

House prices have jumped by 15% on average across Clare in the past year, as a direct result of a shortage in supply during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Daft.ie’s latest house price report shows the cost of a three-bed semi has jumped by almost 19% to €143,000, with a 4-bed bungalow now setting people back €281,000, representing a rise of almost 27%.

Across Munster, listed house prices have increased by an average of 8.5% between March and June, the highest quarterly inflation since 2015, while nationally prices are up 13% on 2020 figures.

Construction ground to a halt during the pandemic, which meant the total number of properties available to buy across Munster stood at just over 3,600, down from 5,500 on the same day last year.
