Minister Vows State Will Pursue Quarries Responsible For Defective Concrete Blocks In Clare

Ahead of last night’s vote, the Public Expenditure Minister vowed the state will pursue those responsible for the sale of defective blocks in Clare and across the country.

Yesterday, during the two-hour debate on the revised Defective Concrete Blocks Scheme, 80 amendments put forward by the Clare Pyrite Action Group and homeowners in Donegal, Mayo and Limerick were voted upon.

The Public Expenditure Minister was responding to Scariff Independent Deputy Michael McNamara, who’s accused the government of rushing legislation on redress through the Dáil and ‘landing’ the full cost of remediation on the exchequer.
