Figures released by the CSO have revealed an interesting insight into house price trends in Clare over the past 12 months.

Overall, the average home in this county now costs €179,000 – an increase of €8,000 in the space of a year.

Houses in the V15 Kilrush Eircode area are among the cheapest in the entire country, coming in at an average of €120,500 but while that’s a low figure nationally, it’s a 17.5% increase in just a year, from €102,500 this time last year.

In contrast, prices in areas covered by the V95 Eircode of Ennis rose by €8,000 in that time, averaging €190,000 at the moment.

The overall increase in house prices in Clare over the past 12 months of 4.6% is well ahead of the national rate of increase of 0.9%, though that figure is skewed somewhat by Dublin’s dominance.
